Recycling update March 19, 2018 – nothing new was discussed

Recycling update January 15, 2018

There is not a program that is going to start right away.  This is what was discussed:  Volunteers manning the recycling area in two hour shifts, the recycling would be open two days a week, Friday and Saturday.  Not sure of hours.  Lee Groff is looking into grants.  It is still on the agenda for future discussion.

To raise awareness of Earth Day 2018, your Environmental Advisory Council is sponsoring a litter pickup on Saturday, April 21st. Trash will be collected from the on/off ramps at one of the exits of Interstate 78. Volunteer help from township residents with this effort would be most welcome and much appreciated. If you would like to participate in helping to keep Bethel Township a beautiful place to live, meet at the Bethel Library Annex Building at 9:00 a.m. on April 21st, rain or shine. The pickup should last about three hours. Please wear weather appropriate clothing including sturdy shoes or boots. Work gloves and brightly colored safety vests will be provided. This project is open to school age children and adults, however elementary and middle school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Lunch will be provided free of charge. In order to make lunch arrangements beforehand, please call EAC Chairperson Mike Najarian at 933-4682 prior to April 21st. Won’t you lend a hand to help rid Bethel Township of unsightly and objectionable trash?
