The Bethel Township Police Department is a 24 hour police department made up of 12 officers, 6 full time, 6 part time and a police secretary. We are located at the Bethel Township Municipal Building behind the Bethel Library. The department was formed in 1955 and has been in service ever since in some kind of capacity. Our coverage area encompasses 42 square miles with a population of approx. 4200 residents. This area includes farmland, residential areas, multiple warehouses, industrial parks and small businesses. We assist two Fire Departments, The Union Fire Company of Bethel and The Community Fire Company of Frystown and also the Bethel Community Ambulance with emergencies within the township. We are all committed to working together to provide a safe community with quality service and protection for all our residents and visitors. I would like take this opportunity to welcome you to the Bethel Township Police Department Website and introduce myself, my name is Chief Ryan Murphy. I have been employed with the Bethel Township Police Department since 2011 and became Chief of Police in 2016. I feel that it is an important duty as Chief and am proud to work together with the officers and residents of Bethel Township to provide a safe community for everyone to live and work in. I look forward to being your Chief of Police for many years to come and will strive to keep Bethel Township a safe community.
